DESIGN: THE AFFECT FACTORY POSTER

While I haven't been doing much design for punk shows or album art (my usual realm), recently I've had the pleasure of working for some publications I really respect.

Women & Performance: A Journal of Feminist Theory contacted me about designing a poster for their conference The Affect Factory. I gladly accepted and was able to work with my friend and frequent collaborator Jason Roy to print the posters.

My other design job for January-February was a cover for Zine Histérica, a punk feminist zine from Brazil. I'll be posting more about that as the zine gets published!

P.S. ELIOT "SADIE" ARTWORK

Today P.S. Eliot's sophomore LP, Sadie, will be released!  It's a great record, and I graciously accepted the task of creating the artwork for this one.  This is only the second LP I've designed (besides my old band Cheeky's What the Heck).  It was A LOT of work, but I feel like my design skills graduated through working on Sadie. After listening to the album and gathering some vibes about rust and bittersweetness from the Crutchfield sisters, I had an idea about what this thing should look like.  During a week-long trip to Athens, GA to celebrate the New Year, I snapped a bunch of photos and started working the concept out after that. All of the text is hand-written. Enjoy!







Sadie is available from Salinas Records on vinyl and from If You Make It as a digital download. Jason Roy and I also collaborated on a poster that will be available at tonight's LP release show!

VERY OKAY - SMALL LOUD

I am super excited to announce that Very Okay's first EP, "Small Loud," has finally been released (we recorded it in August 2010) on Quote Unquote records. I designed an 'album cover' and 'insert' for the digital download. The photograph was taken by me in November 2009. Small Loud was recorded & mastered by John Meredith.
