THE KATHLEEN HANNA PROJECT: CALL FOR VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

My update for today is kind of an embarrassing one, in the true tradition of fan-girl-ism. Fellow Kathleen Hanna Project intern Erica and I created this Call for Submissions website to collect videos about Kathleen Hanna for Sini Anderson's film The Punk Singer, and included both an instructional video made by us (get ready for the goof), and our own personal submissions. All the info is listed below.

>> CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS <<

The Kathleen Hanna Project is collecting stories about Kathleen for the film The Punk Singer. We want you to tell us in your own words: Who is Kathleen Hanna, and why should we know who she is?

The Kathleen Hanna Project: Submit a Video! from KathleenHanna Project on Vimeo.

We’re asking you to make a video telling us what Kathleen Hanna means to you while sitting in your bedroom. It doesn’t have to be long or fancy! We are also seeking submissions from people who don’t like Kathleen Hanna. To get things started, we made our own videos that you can check out at thekathleenhannaproject.wordpress.com.

SO the requirements are:

- Record in your bedroom
- Begin the video by telling us your name, age, and location
- Keep the video under 5 minutes
- It must be unedited
- If shooting tape or film, please mail us the raw footage. Contact us to receive a mailing address.
- The footage must be digitized
- The submissions are limited to one per person

Send your video to khannavideos@gmail.com by July 1, 2011, with the subject line "Video Submission."

If you don’t have the means to make your own video, we’ll be announcing an event this summer where you can film your own to be submitted. Stay tuned!

Download a call for submissions poster or flyer in our 'Spread the Word' section.
