Ad rates for a new zine, Fomentation

Fomentation is a new fanzine out of athens, ga. we are focusing on our local scene as well as punk in general. issue 1 will be available at the end of october. the print run will be approximately 200 copies.

format is doubled over 8 1/2 x 11 black and white
full page (5.5x8.5) = $10
half page (5.5x4.25)= $5
half page (8.5x2.75)= $5

we accept hard copies; .jpeg, or .psd files. if its digi, make sure its atleast 300dpi.
deadline for ad submissions is september 25th. we will also create an ad for you free of charge. deadline for that is september 21st.

Fomentation is a zine being put out by my friends Clancy and Ken, that I'll be contributing to. For now, I am submitting a review of Riot Grrrl: Revolution Girl Style Now! and I'll be interviewing Layla Gibbon next week. Pretty stoked about this.

PUNK AS PARADOX

I wrote this back in April and submitted it to the I Stopped Talking an Hour Ago zine (which will be availabe at this Saturday's Big She-Bang! - http://myspace.com/thebig_shebang). I re-edited it and have just submitted it to Scene not Heard, which is due out at some point next year.

punk as paradox

To begin with, punk is a paradox. It simultaneously represents the best thing that ever happened to me, and the worst. It gives girls and women like me the chance to reclaim our voices, yet it silences us as much as the white, male, hetero-dominated mainstream culture. This could be because punk does not exist in a bubble, it exists within the patriarchy; therefore, it reproduces the patriarchy.
